Songs Will & Ada enjoy...
I shall format this thread identical to Mr Titanic's thread on AGS...
Song: "Flower of Scotland" (Unofficial National Anthem)
Oh, Flower of Scotland
When will we see your like again
That fought and died for
Your wee bit hill and glen
And stood against them
Proud Edward's army
And sent them homeward
Tae think again
Those days are gone now
And in the past they must remain
But we must stand up
And be the nation again
Who stood against them
Proud Edward's army
And sent them homeward
Tae think again
~*~*~*~*~*~
This was adopted a few years ago as Scotland's unofficial anthem (to take the place of the dire "God Save the Queen" which was actually written against the Scots - the third verse begins "Long may she crush the Scots"). The word "Flower" refer to the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314 when, starving and vastly outnumbered, our troops were led by Robert the Bruce to a famous victory over Edward II. This is the battle which briefly referred to at the end of Mel Gibson's Braveheart and was revenge for the years of torture and abuse we suffered at the hands of Edward I (Patrick McGoohan's character) who was known as The Hammer of the Scots. There is nothing surer to stir the blood than a few verses of "Flower of Scotland" - especially when we meet England at rugby or soccer!!! You can probably tell that I am very patriotic! I love my country. ~ Anne G. McRobert

Song: My Heart Will Go On
Music & Lyrics by: James Horner
Artist: Celine Dion
Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you,
That is how I know you go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone
Love was when I loved you
One true time I hold to
In my life we'll always go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
There is some love that will not go away
You're here, there's nothing I fear,
And I know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
~*~*~*~*~
This song says it all, as to the way I feel towards the loss of the dearest love of my life. What more can I say?

Song: The Anchor Holds
Music, Lyrics & Artist: Ray Boltz
I have journeyed
Thru' the long dark night
Out in the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were
Watching me
Chorus:
The anchor holds
Tho' the ship's been battered
The anchor holds
Tho' the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I face life's raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm
I've had visions
I've had dreams
I've even held
Them in my hand
But I never knew
That they could slip right thru'
Like they were only grains of sand.
I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
These eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Thru' the storm of my life
O, that's when God proved His love to me.
REPEAT CHORUS ONCE TAG:
I have fallen on my knees
As I face life's raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm
~*~*~*~*~
Will, throughout his seafaring career, highly identifies with this beautiful song. That's why he has made it his own personal favorite song. Ya' know? He was especially touched, when I told him that Jesus is the anchor Mr. Boltz referred to in his song.

Re: Songs Will & Ada enjoy...
This song "Tell Me" is planned to be sung as duet between Will and Tammy, a fictional character in a fanfiction story titled "I Was A Stranger, and You Took Me In". Here's how they will sing it...
Will:
I'm tired of hollow sounding words.
I'm tired of empty promises.
Won't someone sing a simple song
Of Jesus' love.
Tell me, tell me
The story of Jesus.
Tell me, tell me,
Tell me once again about His love.
Tammy:
Tell me the old old story,
It's my only hope and glory.
Tell me the story of Jesus.
Tell me the old old story,
It shall be my theme in glory.
Tell me once again about His love.
Tammy and Will:
Like eagle wings, it lifts me up
Above the world around me.
Like cool, refreshing summer rain
It leaves me clean.
Will & Tammy (Repeat chorus 2x):
Tell me, tell me
The story of Jesus.
Tell me, tell me,
Tell me once again about His love. (repeat)
