"I Was a Stranger, and You Took Me In" - Part 2
It is now Will's turn to express his shock and dismay when he learns he's missed one-hundred years out of his young life, he realizes it is no fault of his own. He really is alone for the first time in his life. While on the other hand, he appreciates having made a special friend who does understand what predicament he's now facing, and can hold her in his complete confidence. He feels closest to her than anybody...
"What...what...what year is this then, if it isn't 1897?" He asks her next, with bewilderment.
"1997." She replies, and then as the lightbulb goes off inside her head, she adds, "Welcome into the 21st century, William McMaster Murdoch!"
"The 21st Century!?" He said, with astonishment.
"Uh-uh," she said, nodding her head. "In about three more years it will be the year 2000. Unbelievable isn't it!?"
"Unbelievable, indeed!!" Will exclaims. "Astounding is more like it. Never in my wildest dreams, did I ever think that I would live long enough to reach that all too important milestone in our world's future!"
"Well, it looks as though you've finally arrived on the scene, whether you planned on it or not." Tammy said, teasingly.
"Aye!" Will said, in full agreement, for which he responded in kind to her teasing. "It does indeed, look that way, doesn't it?"
"It most certainly does, my friend. It most certainly does."
